Turbidity Sensor

HORIBA TURB200

Features

  • The HORIBA TURB200 Turbidity Meter operates based on the scattered light measurement method (ISO 7027 - EN 27027). A laser diode emits a beam of light, which is transmitted to the sample via optical lenses. Suspended particles scatter light at 90 degrees, and this scattered light is collected by a photodetector, which converts it into an electrical signal proportional to the sample's turbidity.
  • The HORIBA TURB200 uses a 650 nm red laser, with an optional 860 nm infrared laser available upon request to ensure that measurements are unaffected by sample color. It is highly suitable for turbidity measurement in drinking water, aquaculture, and for monitoring turbidity at industrial wastewater treatment plant discharge points.
  • The built-in bubble trap prevents interference from bubbles during measurement. The sensor is easy to open, facilitating calibration with formazin solutions. A valve at the bottom allows the sensor to be drained during calibration or manual cleaning operations. The turbidity sensor must be connected to a controller to enable data display, calibration, and data transmission via RS232/RS485 using the MODBUS communication protocol or through a 4-20 mA analog output.
